Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Meet Alfred
Are you a man feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your emotions, your goals, or even yourself? Maybe you’ve tried to figure it all out on your own. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy before but walked away feeling misunderstood or like something important was missing.
My name is Alfred, and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Humber Bay and part of the team at Uplift Therapy for Men. I help men navigate complex emotions, develop clarity in their inner world, and create a more meaningful, grounded life. My work is especially suited for those who haven’t connected with traditional therapy models or who are seeking a deeper, more thoughtful approach.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working as an actuary—a profession rooted in precision, analytical thinking, and long-term planning. That experience shaped how I approach therapy. I bring intellectual depth, strategic insight, and emotional attunement to every session. I support clients in uncovering the patterns that keep them stuck and guide them in building a clearer, more intentional path forward.
How I Can Support You
I work with men who want to understand themselves better and live with greater agency and emotional depth. Whether you're facing career transitions, relationship challenges, or feeling uncertain about your direction in life, I can support you in:
Understanding and working with your emotions rather than being overwhelmed by them
Gaining clarity around complex life decisions
Breaking unhelpful patterns and building values-aligned habits
Finding connection, meaning, and emotional balance in today’s fast-paced world
My approach integrates clear thinking with emotional intelligence. I help you determine when to trust your instincts and when to pause, reflect, and explore more deeply.
Why Work With Me
In addition to my clinical work, I’m an active member and group facilitator with Everyman, a global men's community focused on emotional connection and personal growth. I’ve seen firsthand the transformation that happens when men are given space to reflect, connect, and grow in community. This experience informs how I show up with clients—with curiosity, presence, and a commitment to depth.
Therapy with me is not about surface-level solutions. It’s about getting to the root of what’s holding you back and building something more sustainable. I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity and strength.
If you’re looking for a therapist who brings both warmth and strategy, someone who sees the full picture and helps you make sense of yours, I’d be honoured to work with you.
Let’s Work Together
You don’t have to navigate this alone. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and move toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and true to who you are.

Types of Therapy
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you develop psychological flexibility by teaching you to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding or fighting them. If you struggle with anxiety, stress, or self-doubt, ACT guides you in recognizing unhelpful patterns and shifting your focus toward actions that align with your values. Through mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and committed action, you learn to engage fully in the present moment and build a more meaningful life. This approach empowers you to respond to challenges with openness and resilience, improving overall well-being.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, or negative self-talk, CBT teaches you practical strategies to challenge distorted thinking and develop healthier coping skills. By learning to reframe thoughts and take constructive actions, you can break free from cycles of stress and self-doubt. This evidence-based approach empowers you to manage emotions more effectively, build resilience, and create lasting positive change in your life.
-
Couples Counselling helps you and your partner reconnect, communicate more effectively, and navigate challenges together.
Whether you're feeling emotionally distant, stuck in recurring conflict, or recovering from a break in trust, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and reset. It helps you identify patterns, improve communication, and rebuild a stronger, more intentional connection.
This process isn’t about blame—it’s about understanding each other more fully and creating a relationship where both partners feel heard, valued, and supported.
-
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps you understand, process, and transform your emotions.
Rather than avoiding or suppressing difficult feelings, EFT guides you in exploring them safely and meaningfully. It’s based on the idea that emotions are not problems—they’re important signals. By working through core emotions like sadness, fear, anger, or shame, you can shift long-standing patterns, improve relationships, and reconnect with your values.
EFT is especially effective for individuals and couples who feel stuck in emotional cycles and want deeper change—not just surface-level fixes.
-
In Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, you’ll find that the focus is on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. This therapy helps you identify your goals and the steps you can take to achieve them. By exploring your strengths and past successes, you gain confidence in your ability to make positive changes in your life. This goal-oriented approach empowers you and motivates you to overcome obstacles, leading to quick and meaningful progress.
